JKA is a non-profit community organization promoting the martial art of Japanese kendo in Jakarta. Founded in the mid-1990's by kendo enthusiasts from Japan and Jakarta, JKA was officially established as an organization in 2006.
The Jakarta Kendo Association is the largest and oldest kendo club in Indonesia. With the help of dedicated volunteers who take their time to organize and teach our members, JKA has grown from a few dedicated members to a community of kendo enthusiasts wanting to learn this satisfyingly difficult martial art.
JKA is part of a network of established clubs in Bandung, Surabaya, Malang, Yogyakarta, and Medan. These clubs are all part of The Indonesian Kendo Association and members of The IKF/FIK.
So, if you are curious, want to start learning, or experienced and would like to join our ranks, we warmly welcome you. To get started, kindly complete the registration form.
The Jakarta Kendo Association holds practices at 2 dojos. If you wish to make a visit, please come to the Jakarta Japan School Dojo during regular practice hours.
JKA has been fortunate to have had a number of sensei pass through our dojo over the years. They have been invaluable in building up kendo in Indonesia and we are thankful for all their generosity.
